"Spain leaps to top of FIFA rankings, U.S. falls to 30th"

Spain jumped to the top of the monthly Fifa rankings for the first time after their triumph in the European Championship with Brazil and Argentina, both the drop in the first three.

The United States maintains its fall from the highest echelons of world football, falling nine places to 30, its lowest ranking since he was 30th in March 2007. The Americans were fourth in April 2006.

The teams are ranked based on points awarded for performances in matches in the past four years.
